First to Cabramatta, and then to Binda, New South Wales

The Frasers who were born in SCOTLAND and emigrated to Australia aboard the St George in 1838:

  • Alexander (Snr) Fraser was born on January 13, 1810, in Laggan, Inverness-shire Scotland. His father was Donald Fraser and his mother was  Isobela Fraser (nee McPherson).
  • Margaret Fraser (nee McBean) was born in 1814 in Alvie, Inverness-shire, Scotland. Her father was Duncan McBean and her mother was Isabella McBean (nee McPhee).

Alexander and Margaret were married in Alvie, Inverness-shire, Scotland, on November 22, 1831.

  • Isabella Fraser was born on August 6, 1832, in Alvie, Inverness-shire, Scotland.
  • Jane Fraser was born on August 28, 1834, in Alvie, Inverness-shire, Scotland.
  • Henrietta Fraser was born on September 29, 1836, in Alvie, Inverness, Scotland. She died in 1838 on the voyage to Australia.

The Frasers who were born in AUSTRALIA:

  • Sarah Elizabeth Fraser was born on October 29, 1839, in Cabramatta, New South Wales, Australia. Her father was employed by a Mr I. S. Moore at Cabramatta. Sarah died when she was less than a year old. 

Around 1840 the Frasers moved to the Binda area where they had found employment as servants to a Mr W.H. Jameison.

  • Alexander (Jnr) Fraser was born on August 20, 1841, in parish of Narrawa, county of King, New South Wales. His birth certificate records his father as being a farmer at Saw Pit Gully, Binda.
  • Elizabeth Louisa Fraser was born on February 12, 1844, in Binda, New South Wales, Australia 
  • Mary Ann Fraser was born on September 12, 1847, in Binda, New South Wales, Australia.  

Some years after settling in the Binda area Alexander (Snr) Fraser was able to buy a team of bullocks and he started up his own carrier business.
